About the Program
In 2011 Little Footsteps Family Child Care was opened in my home. As my children grew so did the program. A few years later the program was renamed as Sunflower Family Child Care. In 2019 I graduated from The University of Maine at Farmington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. By this point my home was getting too small and it was time to grow, and thus in 2022 Sunflower Friends Early Learning Academy was opened.
Philosophy
It is the belief that children learn best in a comfortable and supportive setting, where they feel free to play and explore. It is our goal to guide children in a safe and nurturing environment while providing the children play-based learning activities and emotional support to help them explore and learn.
Our Mission
It is the mission of Sunflower Friends Early Learning Academy to provide a safe and comfortable environment for children to learn through play and exploration, for them to become independent learners, and support for families and our community.
